After experiencing the trials of the first two films, Poppy (voiced by Anna Kendrick) and Branch (voiced by Justin Timberlake) are now officially a couple. Just as their relationship becomes more intimate, Poppy discovers that Branch has a mysterious past. He was once a member of her favorite boy band "Bard of the Trolls," along with his four brothers: Floyd (voiced by Troye Sivan), John Dory (voiced by Eric André), Smidge (voiced by Daveed Diggs), and Krewn (voiced by Kid Cudi). However, the band disbanded when Branch was just a kid, and the family fell apart, causing Branch to never see his brothers again. But when Branch's brother Floyd is kidnapped by two evil music villains—Velvet (voiced by Amy Schumer) and Veneer (voiced by Andrew Rannells)—for his musical talent, Branch and Poppy embark on a thrilling adventure to reunite Branch with his brothers and rescue Floyd, preventing him from facing a fate worse than becoming a washed-up star in the music world.
