In 1937, the Anti-Japanese War broke out, following the defeat in the Battle of Shanghai, Nanjing was in peril. At the critical moment for the survival of the Chinese nation, the National Government announced the relocation of the capital to Chongqing. From February 18, 1938, to December 19, 1944, the Japanese army carried out indiscriminate bombings on Chongqing and its surrounding areas for six years and ten months. Faced with the brutal bombings by the Japanese army, the citizens of Chongqing remained optimistic and resilient, showcasing the national spirit that as long as Chongqing stands, China will not perish. To defend their homeland, young Chinese pilots, with the help of American flight instructors, engaged in a series of fierce and tragic aerial battles against the Japanese Air Force.
