By chance, while at a bar, Ike hears the story of a woman from Maryland, Maggie (played by Julia Roberts), who has fled from the altar three times. He becomes very interested in this and writes a column about it. When Ike goes to interview the locals on-site, he is surprised to find that people are generally angry about his actions. Maggie, the protagonist who is about to walk the red carpet for the fourth time, feels embarrassed after reading Ike's column and decides to flee again.
