Carla Novak (played by Leonie Benesch) is a dedicated and idealistic young teacher starting her first job at a secondary school in Germany. However, after a series of thefts occur at the school, her previously easy-going relationship with the seventh graders is put under stress. An investigation amongst the staff triggers mutual accusations and distrust among outraged parents, opinionated colleagues, and angry students. Caught in these complex relationships, Carla tries to mediate, but the more she strives to do the right thing, the more desperate her situation becomes.
