Carmen (played by Maruschka Detmers) finds her uncle Godard (played by Jean-Luc Godard) hospitalized and, under the pretense of filming a movie with friends, asks to stay at his seaside villa. Godard is in a bizarre state, waiting to write while sick in the hospital, yet longs for a chance to make a film, and agrees to Carmen's request. Carmen meets a police officer named Joseph during a bank robbery, and after a struggle, they unexpectedly develop feelings for each other and fall in love. Carmen brings Joseph to the seaside villa. Soon, she grows distant from Joseph, who becomes increasingly attached to her. After several unsuccessful attempts to resolve this, he ends up killing her during one of Carmen's robbery missions. Meanwhile, Uncle Godard finds himself inexplicably entangled in this case. In a parallel world, a violinist named Claire is quietly playing a string quartet...
