At Tokyo's Mizusawa High School, where cherry blossoms dance, a girl named Chihaya Ayase (played by Hirose Suzu) who loves competitive karuta arrives. In elementary school, Chihaya was influenced by the transfer student Arata Wataya (played by Masaki Suda) and got involved in karuta competition, and from that moment on, she couldn't get enough. After entering high school, she reunites with Taichi Mashima (played by Shupin Nomura), who participated in competitions with her and Arata back then, and together they establish a competitive karuta club.
