In 1995, Colonel Travis (played by Steven Seagal) leads a rescue operation by a counter-terrorism special task force, but it ends in failure... Three months later, military consultant David (played by Kurt Russell) receives news that the leader of a terrorist organization, Abu Yafa, has been captured and will be extradited to the United States. Ten days later, a 747 passenger plane flying from Athens to Washington is hijacked by Abu Yafa's deputy, Antar, who demands the U.S. government release Abu Yafa. David is tasked with resolving the crisis and points out that the terrorists' intention is to use a gas bomb to attack the U.S. mainland, so the plane must not be allowed to land. At the meeting, Travis proposes a bold plan: he wants to lead the counter-terrorism special task force to board the hijacked 747 via aerial docking...
