In 5000 BC, Arishem the Judge of the Celestials selected ten superpowered Eternals from the planet Olympia and dispatched them to Earth to defend against the invasion of the Deviants. For thousands of years, the Eternals helped humanity fend off the Deviant invasions. After the last batch of Deviants was eliminated in 1521, divisions arose among the Eternals regarding whether to continue protecting humanity, ultimately deciding to separate and await Arishem's summons back to their home planet. Now, in the present day, Sersi (played by Gemma Chan) and Sprite (played by Lia McHugh) live together in London, England. Five hundred years ago, Sersi broke up with her boyfriend Ikaris (played by Richard Madden) and formed a friendship with Dane Whitman (played by Kit Harington), who works at the Natural History Museum in London. One night, a Deviant named Kro attacks the three of them, but Ikaris suddenly appears and temporarily fends off Kro. Sersi, Sprite, and Ikaris realize the situation is dire and decide to urgently call the others to confront the new threat…
