The popular movie star Zheng Zhi (played by Xin) is invited to star as the male lead in the film "Small Town Memories," where he performs a love story about a poor guy pursuing a rich beauty alongside the rapidly rising female star Su Nina (played by Zhong Xintong). During the filming process, Zheng Zhi, who has long been accustomed to the life of a big star, fails to impress the newly emerged Hollywood female director Mandy Wu (played by Li Xiaoran) with his grasp and portrayal of the poor boy's life. Worse still, his performance is repeatedly critiqued by the director as inferior to that of the extras. One extra named Chuanzi (played by Yu Shaoqun) is at the set to reconnect with his childhood sweetheart, Sanni. Armed with a childhood photo and precious memories, Chuanzi believes that the popular star Su Nina is indeed his Sanni, and he expresses his affection for her in his own way, even though she already has a wealthy and handsome boyfriend, Peter (played by Yuan Chengjie). Thus, the four individuals from different backgrounds engage in a series of arguments and conflicts on set, along with plenty of laughter and excitement. It turns out that Zheng Zhi and director Wu Di were once lovers, and "Small Town Memories" serves as a commemoration of that romance. After experiencing various quarrels and misunderstandings, the two finally resolve their emotional turmoil. Inspired by Wu Di, Zheng Zhi decides to experience the life of a poor boy and mingles with the extras like Chuanzi. As the film's shooting approaches its end, both couples, Zheng Zhi and Wu Di, as well as Chuanzi and Su Nina, welcome a new beginning in their love...
