Olivia (Jennifer Aniston) has three close friends, and the four women have been inseparable for years, sharing everything. As they reach middle age, their circumstances differ, yet all of them have settled down: one becomes a famous fashion designer, another is a successful playwright, and the third inherits a large fortune, living without worries. In contrast, Olivia's life is a complete mess; she is not only single and unmarried but has also just lost her job, finding herself in dire straits. Although they carry the weight of embarrassment, the friends remain supportive, helping Olivia seek jobs and boyfriends, but with little success. In fact, the friends have their own worries, growing tired of work, marriage, and life—each feels the tangible crisis and concerns of middle age. Olivia roams the big malls, asking for free cream samples, leveraging her friends' connections to attend various upscale parties, waiting for her troubles to fade and her prince charming to arrive. In reality, no matter how wealthy each person is, they seem to be waiting in the same way...
