Naoko Eshima (played by Momoe Yamaguchi) is the daughter of a diplomat. During an accident, she is harassed by a thug, but luckily, she receives help from a man named Jiro (played by Tomoharu Mitsuura) and manages to escape. Ultimately, Jiro accidentally kills the thug and gets seriously injured himself. The next day, Jiro is taken by the police for questioning. Naoko learns of this news and goes to the police station, willing to testify to Jiro's innocence. Afterward, Naoko and Jiro reunite in Shinjuku, and at this point, Naoko has fallen deeply in love with Jiro. She invites him to her birthday party. Naoko's family arranges for her to study in Paris, and as she is about to leave, she hopes to see Jiro one last time. Meanwhile, the thug Jiro killed was a member of the Tsukita gang, and to avenge him, the Tsukita gang sends assassins to chase after Jiro.
