The sudden suicide case of the Austrian Crown Prince reignites Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) after a six-month silence. This time, Holmes faces a formidable opponent—Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris), who is intellectually comparable to Holmes. To investigate the Crown Prince's suicide, Holmes, with the help of the Gypsy astrologer Sim (Noomi Rapace) and Watson (Jude Law), engages in a battle with Moriarty across the European continent, from Britain to France, Germany, and beyond. Although known as the smartest man, Professor Moriarty seems to be able to anticipate Holmes's movements, consistently staying one step ahead of him. As individuals on Moriarty's death list are eliminated one by one, history may be rewritten. How will Holmes confront such a powerful adversary?
