Ryota runs a glasswork factory in Nagasaki Prefecture. He inherited the factory from his father, who he was separated from in childhood, and despite facing tough circumstances, he manages to get by every day. However, like his father before him, he has experienced divorce and has been unable to meet with his children. He's drifting without a regular job, and his older brother, Shoichi, who has a tendency to lie, adds to his worries. One day, Shoichi tells Ryota that he happened to see their father in town.
