In a neon-lit metropolis, as night falls and light rain drizzles, patrolling officers Satch (Eric Bana) and Butler (Joel McHale) receive a dispatch from the alarm center to check on a report at an apartment building, ultimately arresting former Marine Jimmy (Chris Coy) for allegedly beating his wife. They then proceed to the zoo to investigate another case, where a deranged mother previously threw her child into the lion's den. There, Satch not only narrowly escapes death but also encounters a mysterious painter. In the third case, Satch discovers a long-dead body in the basement of an apartment. Unexpectedly, the three cases turn out to be subtly interconnected. To him, the world and the city are filled with neurotic crazies, yet he never considered that modern society still harbors evil...
