The story takes place in the bustling city of Hong Kong, where Tan Dong (played by Fu Sheng) and his grandfather make a living running an orange juice stand. Tan Dong cannot read or write, but he possesses remarkable martial arts skills and strength, able to extract orange juice with just his big hands, making their business particularly successful. Soon, a young thug named Xu Hao (played by Wang Longwei) notices Tan Dong. He takes the initiative to provoke him but ends up defeated in a duel. Humiliated, Xu Hao devises a scheme that frames Tan Dong for drug trafficking, leading to a police manhunt for him. In desperation, Tan Dong embarks on a journey to flee to San Francisco, USA, where he hides in a restaurant in Chinatown. There, he meets a fellow student, Yang Jianwen (played by Sun Jian), and the two establish a solid friendship with shared ideals.
