Adapted from Leïla Slimani's novel of the same name, "The Song of Softness." After giving birth to two children, Miriam can no longer endure the mundane and trivial life of a housewife. She and her husband, Paul, decide to hire a nanny, and Louise enters their lives. Louise is capable of anything and nearly perfect, and Miriam and Paul proudly introduce her to others: "Our nanny is a fairy." As their mutual dependence deepens, estrangement and tragedy slowly begin to ferment.
