A few years after the An-Shi Rebellion, the Tibetan army presses on, and the war situation is critical. Gao Shi, the military governor of Jian'nan and Xichuan, struggles to resist but can only retreat to Yunshan City as a lone soldier. As night falls, heavy snow falls like wheels, and the court sends Master Cheng to oversee the military. Gao Shi learns that the questions being asked are precisely about his "harm to Li Bai," so he slowly recounts the story of how he and Li Bai began from humble beginnings under the dim candlelight, as well as the vibrant literary scene of the Tang Dynasty. After Chang'an, Li Bai headed south to Yangzhou, while Gao Shi continued to wait for a promotion opportunity.
