The financial crisis led middle-aged man Yusaku (played by Tomokazu Miura) to lose his job, and his wife chose to leave because of it. In an instant, having lost everything important in life, he contemplated suicide. Just as he finally mustered the courage to act on his suicidal thoughts, an unexpected phone call from his hometown interrupted his plan. The caller was a friend from Yusaku's school days, with whom he hadn't been in contact for many years.
