Bart (played by Russ Tamblyn) has been fascinated with guns since childhood. At fourteen, he stands in the defendant's seat after attempting to steal firearms. Although his sister Ruby (Anabel Shaw) tries everything to evoke the jury's sympathy, Bart is sent to a juvenile correctional institution. Years pass, and Bart (John Dall) grows from a frail boy into a strong man, with his love and obsession for firearms unchanged. By chance, Bart meets a circus performer named Laurie (Peggy Cummins), and they fall in love at first sight. However, their romance incurs the disdain and expulsion from the circus owner.
