This film tells the love story of the main character, Koyamauchi Ken (played by Oizumi Yo), who loses his wife (played by Shibasaki Kou) and daughter in an accidental tragedy. One day, a man claiming to be Miankaku Tetsuhiko (played by Meguro Ren) approaches the grieving Koyamauchi Ken and tells him that his daughter wanted to meet him on the day of the accident, a meeting that never took place. He also shares his own story with a woman he once loved, another Ruri (played by Arimura Kasumi).
