University student Aoi Ueno attends a special lecture by counselor Keiji Kamiyama titled "What Are Dreams?" To solve the mystery of the dream experienced by student Kaede Yamauchi, who dreams of stabbing someone with a Japanese sword, Kamiyama performs "reading," an analysis of spiritual phenomena through psychic abilities. Kamiyama sees Kaede’s past life as a samurai during a raid, but at the same time, Aoi also sees the samurai figure. Aoi, who has been troubled by experiences like sleep paralysis in the past, offers to become Kamiyama's assistant to investigate the truth behind these spiritual phenomena.
