"Moon and Thunder" is a novel by Mitsuyo Kakuta published in 2012, telling the story of a woman and her son, Achi, who live like floating duckweed, and the daughter, Taiko, of a man who once lived with them. Taiko's mother left home when she was young, and having grown up without the warmth of a family, her life changes when her father's mistress's son suddenly appears before her.
