During the late Edo period, various warlords rose to power, and Japan was in turmoil. In this era of heroes, Sakamoto Ryoma occupied a significant place in history with his exceptional charisma and forward-thinking ideas. The film primarily depicts the last two days of Sakamoto Ryoma's life before his assassination. On November 13, 1867, hail fell in Kyoto, where Sakamoto Ryoma (played by Yoshio Harada) took refuge in the Omiya, a place frequently visited by the Kaiyantai. After the "Return of Governance," the situation became increasingly unstable, and Sakamoto was seen as a dangerous figure by both the pro-shogunate and imperial loyalists. With nothing to do, Sakamoto indulged with courtesans and inadvertently drew the attention of assassins due to a misfired pistol. Former friend Shintaro Nakaoka (played by Renji Ishibashi) and a chance encounter with Yuta (played by Yusaku Matsuda) led them to put down their weapons and become close friends with Sakamoto. Consequently, Shintaro was imprisoned, and Sakamoto and Yuta rescued him.
