During his university days practicing judo, Zaruki Yoichi (played by Go Ayano) is seconded to Hokkaido as a detective due to his special skills. With no matches to attend, he spends his days handling tedious tasks, his sense of justice having no outlet. Under the guidance of the police department’s top detective Murai (played by Pierre Taki), Zaruki, who has always seen things in black and white, experiences an epiphany. He begins to develop a network of informants and rack up points, becoming a key asset within the Hokkaido police. He forges brotherly bonds with figures from the gray areas such as yakuza boss Kuroiwa Katsunori (played by Shido Nakamura) and drug dealer Yamabe Taro (played by Young Dais), relying on them to collect firearms to meet police quotas, and even misusing public funds to sell drugs and smuggle guns. Believing he is doing righteous work, Zaruki is unaware that he is straying further from his dreams... This film is inspired by the true events of former Hokkaido police officer Inaba Keigo.
