Kim Kyung-ho (played by Ahn Sung-ki) was originally a mathematics professor at a university, but was indirectly suspended by the school for pointing out a mistake in a college entrance exam. In his attempts to appeal multiple times to restore his position and reputation, he faced repeated failures. Disheartened, Kim Kyung-ho left South Korea to conduct academic research abroad until he returned in 2006, when he filed a lawsuit against the South Korean Supreme Court, demanding the reinstatement of his title but lost the case. At this point, he was extremely angry and, in a fit of rage, ambushed the presiding judge in the judge's apartment building, planning to attack him with a crossbow. The judge was injured and hospitalized, and Kim Kyung-ho was arrested. With media attention, this incident escalated to a “judicial terror attack.” However, Kim Kyung-ho refused to admit to all charges, and as he fought back, the details surrounding this "crossbow incident" became increasingly complex… The movie "Broken Arrow" is based on the sensational "crossbow incident" that occurred in South Korea in 2007.
