The young man Ryohei (played by Tori Matsuzaka) who runs a pastry café is about to marry the girl he loves, Chie (played by Nana Seino). However, just as he is basking in his success, Chie suddenly goes missing, and his father Yosuke is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, with little time left. While helping to organize some items, Ryohei accidentally discovers a few old notebooks with the title "Yuri Heart (Swaying Heart)" on the cover. The notebooks are filled with the monologues of a woman who claims to have felt fear of the outside world since childhood; an accidental killing, however, brings her a sense of solace. The extremely realistic descriptions in the notes terrify Ryohei, yet he cannot stop reading. Meanwhile, a woman claiming to be Chie's friend, Ms. Sayaka (played by Taeko Kimura), comes to him to reveal the circumstances of Chie's disappearance. As Ryohei reads the notes, he seems to be captivated by this woman named Mitsuko (played by Yuriko Yoshitaka), and a great secret lies hidden within... This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Maho Numata.
