The protagonist Larry (Robert Young) has been cheating on his wife, engaging in a secret affair with his lover Janice (Susan Hayward). Larry longs to elope with Janice, but his plans are thwarted by his wife's unbelievable actions. She cleverly forces Larry to stay in the marriage by purchasing a stake in a company.
