Two deaths that occurred simultaneously but far apart caught the attention of criminal investigator Yuuji Nakaoka (played by Hiroshi Tamaki). Both victims died of hydrogen sulfide poisoning and knew each other before their deaths. To uncover the truth of the case, Nakaoka consulted with chemist Shuusuke Aoe (played by Sho Sakurai), who argued that if the two cases were the work of the same person, they would need to precisely control the exact and extremely demanding timelines, which is scientifically impossible. Subsequently, Professor Aoe met a woman named Maruka Haharam (played by Suzu Hirose), who claimed to be a psychic and demonstrated her abilities before him, overturning Aoe's worldview. Soon after, the two teamed up to track down a person involved in the case named Kento Amagasaki (played by Souta Fukushi). During this process, Nakaoka began to doubt Maruka's true identity.
