After graduating, she marries and has children, leading a blissfully happy life that serves as a model for many. However, misfortune strikes her without warning, and she and her family become victims of a brutal massacre. Various signs suggest that the killer is not after material gain but seems to be motivated by revenge. Takeshi Tanaka (played by Sōta Matsumuki) is a newspaper reporter who decides to uncover the hidden truth behind the case. Takeshi has a sister named Mitsuko (played by Hikaru Mitsushima), who is imprisoned for the abuse resulting in the death of her biological daughter and is deemed to have a mental disorder. Takeshi visits Yuki's former classmates and friends, and a dark history that she possessed gradually comes to light, a history that turns out to be intricately connected to Mitsuko.
