The Taisho era revolutionary Ōsugi Sakae and the two women surrounding him... feminist Kanjin Ichiko and revolutionary Itō Noe. The love and hate among these three ultimately culminated in the 1916 Kanjin incident where Kanjin killed Ōsugi. Later, a female college student named Naoko, researching modern events, presents the incident to the audience through her imagination. Thus, Ōsugi, modeled by Kanjin's muse Matsukawa Itoko, and Noe appear. Soon, the two stories intersect in a dreamlike manner across time and space.
