Nobuyoshi lives with his wife and son along with his father, Mozou, and mother. Nobuyoshi's family lives in the main house, while his parents reside in the annex. Although they are under the same roof, there is not much communication between the two families. One day, Nobuyoshi’s mother passes away, and it is then that he learns his father suffers from severe Alzheimer's disease, something he was completely unaware of as a son. Thus, the responsibility of caring for Mozou falls on Nobuyoshi and his family. However, Mozou's symptoms are extremely severe; he not only has a very aggressive and rude attitude towards everyone but often causes accidents that catch everyone off guard. With no other options, Nobuyoshi has to send his father to a nursing home. Just as Nobuyoshi feels he is about to collapse because of his father's deteriorating condition, Mozou passes away.
