Akiu Konno (played by Ryuhei Matsuda) is transferred by his company to live in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, moving from the big city of Tokyo. Although he can interact normally with his colleagues, he struggles to fit in. It is not until he meets his peer, Norihiro Hirasawa (played by Ryuhei Matsuda), that he begins to let down his guard in this unfamiliar territory. Hirasawa has a carefree appearance, sporting messy medium-length hair, and often ignores Konno's advice by sneaking cigarettes at the office. Although they seem mismatched at first glance, a night of drinking brings them closer together, forging a deep friendship as they go on fishing trips and explore the night together. The days filled with laughter over trivial matters feel like a belated youth for Konno, stirring up emotions within him. One day, Hirasawa suddenly goes missing. As Konno embarks on a search for him, the vastly different aspects of his best friend start to surface: a female colleague claims to have lent money to Hirasawa but cannot recover it, while Hirasawa's estranged family refuses to assist the police in filing a missing person report...
