A radio station holds a script selection competition for radio dramas, with only an ordinary housewife, Miyako Suzuki (played by Kyoka Suzuki), submitting a work that gets selected. The story tells a pure love tale between a housewife in Atami and a fisherman. Midnight approaches and the live broadcast is imminent. The program director, Ryuhiko Nishijima (played by Masahiko Nishimura), arrives on site to coordinate the operations of various departments. However, at this critical moment of high tension, a series of unexpected situations arise. The arrogant actress Nobuko Senbon (played by Keiko Toda) whimsically changes the name of the protagonist "Ritsuko" to "Mary Jane," while the male actor playing opposite, Toru Hamimura (played by Toshiyuki Hosokawa), is unwilling to accept the down-to-earth name "Torao." To match this new international flair, Nishijima has no choice but to ask Suzuki to rewrite the story's background. With each unreasonable alteration, this pure love radio drama has transformed beyond recognition... This film is the directorial debut of the acclaimed screenwriter Koki Mitani.
