Abel (Jean-Paul Roussillon) and Juno (Catherine Deneuve) have been married for many years, raising a pair of children together. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes this family when their youngest son falls ill, and only a bone marrow transplant can save his life. After finding no suitable match, Abel and Juno decide to have another child, but to their disappointment, this child's bone marrow is also not suitable for Joseph.
