In a bustling and noisy big city where she feels out of place, ordinary girl Ichiko (played by Ai Hashimoto) chooses to return to her childhood home—located in the small village of Komori in northeastern Japan. There is not much fashion or modern civilization here; the locals live a traditional life, working from sunrise to sunset, relying on nature and their hands to sustain their lives. Though life is not affluent, their hearts are filled with fulfillment and joy. Influenced by her mother (played by Karen Kirishima), Ichiko seems to have a particularly strong interest in making various delicious and inexpensive dishes with her own hands. Her mother has been missing for a long time, and the memories and recreations of cooking become a unique way for the mother and daughter to communicate. Moreover, with a variety of ingredients sourced from nature, how could they waste such precious time? Accompanied by her friends, Noriko (played by Mayu Matsuoka) and Yuta (played by Takahiro Miura), Ichiko quietly traverses through the four seasons... This film is adapted from the original work by manga artist Daisuke Igarashi.
