The chubby young master of the second-hand bookstore has great ambitions and is determined to create the scariest haunted house in the world. Before achieving his dream, he practices on his friends and family, using a decapitation model and a blood-squirting bottle, which scares his father away to seek a new life. A clumsy and shy girl comes to work, instantly becoming the dream girl of everyone, even attracting the alternative prince Naoki Tanaka from "Golden Legend". This is a comedy created by Japanese drama stars Yoshino Kimura and Ryo Arakawa, transforming small characters into a hilarious portrayal of mundane life.
This is quite a Kuso film; the Japanese are weird like that, with strict societal norms yet they produce some wildly imaginative movies. Maybe it's a need for emotional outlets!
The story revolves around a generation in Japan during the bubble economy, featuring three men and women nearing 30 who struggle to find direction.
A Male - The son of the second-hand bookstore owner, he is ambitious but self-centered, resembling a character like Taka (Fat Tiger). He harbors a firm dream of opening the scariest haunted house in the world.
B Male - A childhood friend of A Male, he has a regular job and a good reputation among colleagues, appearing to be an accomplished young man. However, he often suppresses his true feelings to please others.
C Female - She has an elegant appearance and a talent for painting, but struggles with coordination issues that hinder her ability to interact and communicate well with society.
The film lacks a main storyline, instead depicting the interactions and influences between these three. The humor mainly stems from A Male's terrifying experiments and the strange events caused by C Female's lack of coordination.
With a gentle portrayal of everyday life and a slow build-up of humor, it offers a lighthearted piece that can elicit smiles and laughter.
