Ordinary office worker Ryota Nonomiya (played by Masaharu Fukuyama) and his wife Midori Nonomiya (played by Machiko Ono) have been happily married for many years, raising their intelligent and well-behaved son Keita Nonomiya (played by Keita Ninomiya) together. Their life is peaceful and filled with happiness. However, the three of them, who thought their tranquil life would continue indefinitely, are caught off guard when a phone call from the hospital where Keita was born pulls this small family into a whirlwind. It turns out that Keita is not the biological son of Ryota and Midori, but rather the product of the love between Daiki Saiki (played by Ryuhei Matsuda) and Yukari (played by Yoko Maki). What is more precious, the bond formed through daily companionship or the connections of blood? Faced with the consequences of a small misunderstanding from many years ago, Ryota and Midori are left unsure of what to do next. Meanwhile, for Daiki, Yukari, and their non-biological child Ryuhei Saiki (played by Seihun Hwang), they too stand at a crossroads in life.
