Malika (Karidja Touré) is a unique girl who finds the behavior of many of her peers quite childish. The monotonous academic life at school bores her, and the pervasive atmosphere of patriarchy nearly suffocates her. At this critical moment, Malika encounters the Girl Gang—a group formed by three uniquely individual girls. In order to fit in, Malika goes so far as to change her name, alter her clothing style, and even drop out of school to engage in a series of illegal activities, including theft. Over time, her initial excitement about joining the gang turns into hesitation as she realizes that even here, she cannot find the freedom she desires.
