Bill (Nicolas Cage), Alvin (Dana Carvey), and Dave (Jon Lovitz) are three deeply bonded friends. Alvin has a penchant for stealing, and Dave's cleverness helps satisfy his habit. Although Bill is kind-hearted, he is easily swayed by the temptations of his two friends, leading him into trouble. As Christmas approaches, the three troublemakers drive to a quiet little town, where the simple ethos and naive residents stir their criminal desires. After easily robbing a bank, their biggest challenge becomes how to leave the snowbound town. During a series of hide-and-seek antics, the three unfortunate souls fall into a cold lake. Fortunately, they are rescued by a kind young man from the town, who turns out to be the manager of the very bank they had robbed.
