The elderly Frank (played by Robert De Niro) was once a worker who coated wires for protection, shielding them from external erosion. He took great care of his four children, but in the eight months since his wife passed away, he noticed an increasing distance between himself and his kids. Ignoring the doctor's warnings, Frank set off on a journey to visit his four children. However, his youngest son, whom he envisioned becoming a painter, has gone missing; his eldest daughter Amy (played by Kate Beckinsale) seems less happy in her marriage than she appears; his son Robert (played by Sam Rockwell), who was thought to be a band conductor, is actually just a drummer; and his daughter Rosie (played by Drew Barrymore), who has always loved to dance, seems to be hiding something from him as well. Thus, old Frank sets out on his return home filled with suspicion. During the journey, Frank is hospitalized due to heart disease, and his children finally gather at his bedside, but the youngest son still does not appear... This film is a remake of the 1990 film of the same name by Italian director Giuseppe Tornatore, and Robert De Niro's outstanding performance in this film earned him the Best Actor award at the 13th Hollywood Film Festival.
