Christmas is just around the corner, and Santa Claus (played by Richard Riehle), who lives in the North Pole, is set to head to New York to deliver Christmas gifts to children. However, this year is a bit unusual; Santa finds that the Christmas spirit in New York is dwindling, so he decides to go down to investigate with his loyal dog Paws (voiced by Zachary Gordon). Unfortunately, Santa is hit by a taxi on the street, and both his crystal pendant, which helps him maintain his vitality, and his money are stolen. When he wakes up, he has lost his memory. By chance, he arrives at the toy store of his late friend Mr. Hackback and is hired by the new couple who owns the store to play the role of "Santa Claus." Meanwhile, a little girl named Quinn (played by Kaitlyn Maher) is being sent to a foster home where she suffers under the harsh treatment of her foster mother. One night, she accidentally discovers the anxious dog Paws searching for Santa on the streets of New York and carefully takes him in.
