The movie consists of four stories. A couple in love adopts a cat named Little Ai, but what happens to Little Ai after they break up? The second story is about a stray cat named Little Fortune. A man who is unemployed and separated from his family encounters Little Fortune, and they become each other's support. The third story features a cat named Shuyan. The only daughter, Xiujing, finds that all her friends have pets, and feeling lonely, she returns to an empty home every day, while her mother insists that they can't have a cat. The fourth story is about Shunzi, whose grandfather suffers from dementia and is not at all welcoming to unexpected guests. Yet outside, there are faint whispers, "My Shunzi is back…".
