Felicity Moos is a lazy and passive employee working in an organization similar to a biological science research institute. After a colleague's death, he is promoted to write speeches for the founder and head of the group—Arimoos Sweatt. He uses this as an excuse to emotionally distance himself from his wife: he discovers that his wife is having an affair with a dentist named Jeff Likochiko, while Moos is busy writing speeches, and Likochiko is indulging in a romance with a new patient named Elmo, who is a mental patient that wanders the streets every day, seducing lonely married women... Steven Soderbergh not only actively analyzes his life in the semi-autobiographical "Sex, Lies, and Videotape" and "The King of the Jews" (a film starring his family of three that depicts their family life), but he also openly admits that the artistic experiments he conducted in "Kafka," "Under Control," and "The King of the Jews" did not satisfy audiences. However, he firmly believes that these three films, along with his early short films, are essential to his career and growth. Steven Soderbergh's 1986 work became a box office poison that year. The film is also titled "Perverted City," and indeed the scenes are perplexing, such as riding a bicycle naked on the street, refusing to have sex with his wife while in bed, and engaging in self-abuse—these moments are quite perverted. Many friends who watched this work felt confused and didn't understand its meaning. The director surely has his own intentions; otherwise, this film wouldn't be called "Perverted City," haha. In this film, the director Soderbergh himself plays the leading role and portrays two important characters, with the male protagonist living in chaos and having distorted thoughts.
