The film is adapted from the biography of Michael Ausiello, the president and editor-in-chief of the entertainment news site TVLine.com, described as "a heartbreaking dramedy about love and loss": Ausiello's boyfriend, Kit Cowan, was diagnosed with terminal cancer and ultimately passed away. The depiction of their life over the last 11 months is interwoven with flashbacks of their earlier encounters and the little moments they shared over 14 years. Having overcome numerous obstacles to find true love, they must now face life's greatest challenge together.
