In an ordinary countryside town, Fujioka Kota (played by Ohno Satoshi), on the verge of turning 30, lives a simple life with his father Kenjiro (played by Miura Tomokazu), mother Yasuko (played by Kishimoto Kayoko), sister Koharu (played by Mimura), and girlfriend Tanabe Etsuko (played by Kimura Fumino). Having dropped out of university and struggling to find a job, Kota feels lost about the future, never imagining that the end of life would come so swiftly before him. Kota is diagnosed with malignant lymphoma with a 20% mortality rate and is forced to stay in the hospital for treatment. During this time, fellow patient Nobu (played by Yamada Ryosuke) and psychological counselor Okubo Yuriko (played by Fukada Kyoko) give him immense confidence. With a successful blood type match, fate seems to smile upon this young man once again... This film is based on the original work by Ko Whei.
