Dakota Johnson will star in the new film "Persuasion," adapted from Jane Austen's novel of the same name. Tony Award-nominated theater director Carrie Cracknell makes her feature film directorial debut. This modern adaptation tells the story of Anne Elliot, a woman with unconventional feelings who lives with her snobbish, nearly bankrupt family. When Frederick Wentworth, the charming and stylish man Anne once dismissed, reappears, she must choose whether to leave the past behind or take a second chance to follow her heart. Ronald Bass ("Rain Man," "My Best Friend's Wedding") and Alice Victoria Winslow wrote the screenplay, and the film is co-produced by Netflix and MRC Film, set to begin shooting in May.
