Winner of the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor at the César Awards in 1987. It tells the story of two old friends reuniting, where the now-famous musician Brown falls in love with his friend's wife... Pierre is a violinist who invites his talented friend, Marchell, to dinner at his home and introduces him to his wife, Romani. Romani and Marchell fall in love at first sight because of this encounter. The film departs from Renais's past jumpy style and adopts the dramatic form of a stage play, with a straightforward narrative from beginning to end, relying solely on the actors' skills and theatrical dialogue, making it almost a play. Renais's favored actress, Emmanuelle Béart, stands out due to her extensive stage experience, winning the César Award for Best Actress.
