"Ned's Gun" is the final chapter of a trilogy, the first two parts being "Henry Fool" and "Fay Grim," providing a fitting conclusion to an alternative perspective on the fringes of American society. In this film, Henry (played by Thomas Jay Ryan, the character from "Henry Fool") and Fay (played by Parker Posey, the character from "Fay Grim") also appear, but they have transformed into a portrait, lovingly watching over their son Ned, who is eighteen years old and has just been released from the witness protection program. Although a Christian foster father—a church pastor—has taken him in, Ned sets a vengeful goal: to kill his father, the man who ruined his mother's life. As this serious and dignified young man embarks on his quest for revenge, he soon finds himself entering a typical Hartley-esque gang of misfits...
