One day, a kind boy named Lucas (played by Jonah Hauer-King) encounters a lonely puppy in an abandoned building. Although Lucas's mother forbids him from having pets, he can't bear to see the puppy unloved, so he brings it home and names it Bella. Thus, Bella becomes a new member of Lucas's family. One day, Lucas's mother takes Bella to the Veterans Hospital for a check-up. Surprisingly, Bella not only avoids causing any trouble but also brings joy to the patients who were initially gloomy, quickly becoming a popular star at the hospital. An accident forces Lucas to leave Bella at a friend's house, and misunderstood by her owner, Bella decides to run away and uses her courage and intelligence to reunite with Lucas.
