This SP is the Chapter 0 of the "Detective Galileo" series, centering on a case three years before the encounter of TV version Taka and Utsumi. One night three years ago, a locked-room murder occurred in a small cabin on a certain island. The victim was stabbed in the chest and back while locked inside the room, which was subsequently burned down. Toshiya Kusanagi (played by Kazuki Kitamura), now a police officer, returns to his alma mater, Teito University, inviting his old classmate Akira Tokawa (played by Masaharu Fukuyama), who he hasn't seen in 12 years, to help solve the case. Tokawa and his team go to the vicinity of the crime scene, enjoying the beach view while searching for clues. As the investigation progresses, Tokawa, who seeks to uncover the physical principles of the case, gradually approaches the truth, unaware that human emotions are also a science...
The film also intersperses a segment where Kusanagi recounts a case that bonded him with young Tokawa (played by Haruma Miura) during their sophomore year to Tokawa's student, Shiotani (played by Masami Nagasawa), as the sea breeze flows...
The SP is adapted from the stories "Manipulation" and "Fall" in the series novels, and it is released on the same day as the theatrical version of "The Devotion of Suspect X."
